About Clir Cymru

Clir Cymru was created by MWT Cymru for tourism and hospitality businesses in Wales. It is free to use and open to any tourism or hospitality business in Wales, whether or not they are a member of MWT Cymru.

Most websites have small things that make them harder to read, navigate, enquire or book with than the owner realises. Clir looks at your website the way a visitor would and explains what it finds in everyday words.

MWT Cymru is a membership organisation that has supported tourism businesses in Mid Wales since 1991.

• Show how your website may appear with different types of colour vision.
• Show exactly where a possible problem appears, on which page.
• Explain why it may matter to a visitor.
• Suggest what you could do next.
• Help identify what may need whoever looks after your website.
• Group changes that appear on many pages, so one change can improve several.
• Help you decide what is worth looking at first.
• Look for the visitor information tourism and hospitality guests usually want.

Clir does not change your website for you, and it cannot promise more bookings or enquiries. Automated checks cannot confirm that a website meets WCAG or any legal requirement, so Clir does not claim to. Some things always need a person to look and decide, which is why Clir includes manual checks.
